OLD NEWS

The 2nd annual Ledgewood Build-a-Gingerbread party (Dec 6, 2008) was a sold-out sweet success! 32 gingerbread houses were created by Ledgewood children, family, and friends. Special thanks to Kristine Hawke for organizing this fun event!

The October 25th (2008) Ledgewood Legendary Clambake and Dessert Auction was attended by 65 residents. The planning committee would like to thank George and Cindy Smith and all of the residents who donated their delicious homemade creations. Cindy organized and "marketed" the numerous desserts and George provided great entertainment while serving as auctioneer. These efforts raised approximately $800 to benefit the Ledgewood Swim Team and children's special events. Lastly, special thanks to the wonderful planning committee -- Wayne Norton, Curt and Margie Harler, Jay and Denise Coniam, Rick Berger, Diane Revels, Marcia Folino, and Gerry and Phyllis Wahl. This event was a true team effort!

3rd Annual Ledgewood Meet Your Neighbor Wine and Cheese Party
(details in August 2008 Ledger)
The June 20th Meet Your Neighbor event was a great success with approximately 100 Ledgewood residents in attendance. Special thanks to residents Rick Berger, Jay and Denise Coniam, Curt and Margie Harler, Jerry and Phyllis Wahl, Margaret Bosela-Klinzing, and Janeen Leon for coordinating the event.

Neighborhood Food Drive (details in August 2008 Ledger)
Residents who coordinated a Neighborhood Food Drive on Saturday, June 21st report that over 100 plastic grocery bags of food were collected and delivered to the SCAN Food Pantry. Although this was not a board-sponsored event, numerous residents have expressed an interest to board members to repeat food drives in the future to benefit both SCAN and Strongsville food pantries. The LHA BOT is unable to directly sponsor charitable events, but does encourage Ledgewood residents to work together to support local charitable organizations.

20 Oct 2007
The Ledgewood Halloween Party on October 20 provided a fun evening for all. Over 145 guests were in attendance at the Ledgewood Clubhouse for the evening’s festivities that included pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, a corn dig, art projects, games and a buffet dinner for all.

Keep your eyes open in the Ledger for future children’s activities and please contact Margaret Bosela-Klinzing at 440-268-0457 to get involved with the children’s planning committee..

Gingerbread House Party For Kids
On December 1, 2007 a Gingerbread House party was held for Ledgewood resident children and grandchildren. 47 people attended and created 24 gingerbread houses. The kids had a great time creating gingerbread houses with lots of sticky icing and candy. We suspect that much of the candy decorations went home in little tummies! Special thanks to Kris Hawke and Margaret Bosela-Klinzing for coordinating this fun event.

Watch for announcements of future children’s activities in the Ledger. Please contact Margaret Bosela-Klinzing at 440-268-0457 or Janeen León at 440-846-1393 or email) to get involved with the children’s planning committee.

4 JULY 2007 PARTY
Every year, the Ledgewood Swim Team hosts a neighborhood 4th of July Party that all residents and guests are invited to attend.  The day consists of food, games and prizes.  The hit of this year’s party was a rubber chicken event that involved flinging a rubber chicken with a huge slingshot.  Needless to say, the kids had a blast.  If you happened to see chickens flying over the clubhouse, you weren’t imagining it!
